🚨 Cardano’s Newest Identity Venture Has Already Put Its Shares on-Chain

The Cardano Foundation has spun out Veridian as an independent digital identity company—and says Veridian’s shares are the first asset issued on Cardano using its new programmable-token standard.

LIVE / CONFIRMED: The Foundation announced the spin-out on October 8. Veridian says its digital identity wallet is already available on iOS and Android, while its shares have been tokenized under Switzerland’s DLT Act using CIP-0113.

Why it matters: this is a concrete first use of Cardano’s newly launched token standard, beyond a roadmap or proposal.

But keep the scale clear: Veridian is a company launch, not a major public-market listing or proof of broad token adoption. The Foundation says Veridian plans to seek strategic partners and investors in 2027.

The takeaway: Cardano’s programmable-token tools have an early real-world test case, while wider adoption remains to be proven.
