🛠️ Hedera’s Latest Verified Milestone Happened on Testnet—not Mainnet
Hedera completed its v0.78 testnet upgrade on October 8, according to the network’s official status page.
The important distinction: this was a TESTNET maintenance event. I found no verified announcement that v0.78 has gone live on Hedera mainnet, so it shouldn’t be framed as a mainnet upgrade or a new HBAR feature.
Why care? Testnet upgrades let developers and operators check network changes before any mainnet rollout. But the status notice alone doesn’t confirm what user-facing changes, if any, will follow.
The takeaway: a confirmed infrastructure test—not a mainnet launch, partnership, or proven catalyst for HBAR.
