AI breaking $BTC or $ETH directly is not the risk I’m worried about right now. Modern cryptography is not something an AI model can just “figure out” by being smarter. The bigger threat is AI making attacks around the wallet much more effective. Think phishing, fake support agents, malware, deepfakes and highly personalised scams that convince someone to expose a seed phrase or approve the wrong transaction. That is a very different problem from cracking Bitcoin’s cryptography itself. Quantum computing is the technology that could eventually challenge some of the underlying cryptographic assumptions, but we are not there yet. So for me, the near-term risk is simple: AI probably won’t crack your $BTC wallet. It may become extremely good at convincing you to unlock it yourself. That makes wallet hygiene, hardware signing and verifying every transaction more important than ever.
