#vitalikwarnsaicouldweakencryptographysecurity
I am not a cryptographer. I am a trader and a retired grandfather. So I read this the way I read a chart: what is confirmed, and what is only a warning.
Confirmed: the feed says Vitalik Buterin warned that AI-driven math could seriously weaken lattice-based cryptography within about two years, and that ECDSA, the signature behind Bitcoin and Ethereum wallets, could face a breakthrough sooner than expected.
Not confirmed: that anything is broken. No post I read shows a real attack on any wallet. A warning is not a hack.
His advice is the part I like most: do not rush to move funds. He says he has lost more money to botched migrations than to every hack combined. Justin Drake wants "bunker mode," and Vitalik does not join him.
I know this from my own trading. My worst losses came from moving fast with no plan. A panic migration is the same mistake in another place: fake wallet updates, phishing, a wrong address, a leaked seed phrase.
What I CAN do: keep my wallet and apps updated, follow only official developer news, never share my seed phrase, never sign what I don't understand.
What I CANNOT do: judge the math, predict when or if a breakthrough comes, or know who is right.
Wait, plan, don't panic. Slow is safe.
Do you move early, or wait for proof? Tell me below.
