$BTC Today — 8 Oct 2026
$BTC is currently around $82.8K–$83.1K and under pressure after yesterday's sharp drop. The key issue now is whether buyers can defend the $81.3K–$83K support zone.
Key levels 🎯
🟢 $81,300–83,000 — critical support 🟢 $80,000 — next major support if $81.3K fails 🟢 $78,000 — deeper downside target 🔴 $84,500 — first recovery level 🔴 $86,500–87,000 — major resistance / bullish confirmation
My view
Short-term: ⚠️ Neutral → Bearish
BTC needs to reclaim $84.5K first to show that the selling pressure is weakening. A move back above $86.5K–87K would significantly improve the setup and potentially open $88.5K–90K.
But if $81.3K breaks decisively, I would expect $80K, and potentially $78K, rather than immediately buying the dip.
The recent sell-off has also been amplified by macro pressure—higher oil prices, Treasury yields and a stronger dollar—as well as leveraged long liquidations.
Trading idea: I would wait for either $81.3K–83K to clearly hold or a reclaim of $84.5K before becoming more aggressive on longs.#FedMinutesFocusOnOctoberPause #VitalikWarnsAICouldWeakenCryptographySecurity #XRPSpotETFsHold$1.7BWeeklyInflowsSlow #FrenchHillUrgesCLARITYActPassageInLameDuck #IMFGrantsWaiverForElSalvadorBitcoinBreach
