Large $XRP withdrawals from Binance have climbed to their highest 30-day total in seven months, according to on-chain analytics platform CryptoQuant. The figure, tracked by CryptoQuant contributor Arab Chain, points to a notable shift in how major holders are managing their positions relative to the world's largest crypto exchange.
1.38 Billion XRP Exits Binance
Data from CryptoQuant shows the 30-day sum of $XRP outflows from Binance has risen to 1.38 billion XRP, the highest whale outflow reading in seven months. The rebound follows an earlier period of declining activity, with $XRP trading near $1.50 at the time of the analysis.
Arab Chain notes that the outflows suggest a shift in whale holding behaviour, as more large addresses choose to hold their coins away from Binance rather than keeping them readily available for selling. That pattern, if sustained, could gradually reduce the liquid supply available for trading on the exchange.
Separate CryptoQuant data shows whales accounted for around 77% of $XRP outflows from centralised exchanges overall, with Binance showing an even stronger concentration, where whale activity made up roughly 81% of outflows versus 18.7% for retail.
Context: Outflows Are Not the Same as Reserve Losses
The headline figure requires some qualification. The distinction between exchange outflows and net flows determines what the figure actually measures. The former counts amounts withdrawn; the latter subtracts those amounts from deposits over the same period. Consequently, the reported total cannot be equated with a 1.38 billion $XRP decline in Binance's reserves. Coins leaving Binance may have moved to other exchanges or private wallets rather than into long-term cold storage.
CryptoQuant separately reported that $XRP whale inflows to Binance totaled about 1.6 billion $XRP over the prior 30 days, with Binance reserves standing near 2.62 billion $XRP, the highest level in roughly 69 days. That means large holders have been both depositing and withdrawing at elevated rates, adding nuance to any straightforward accumulation narrative.
Wallets holding between 10 million and 100 million $XRP added 1.6 billion tokens over two weeks, reaching a record 13.93 billion $XRP. The accumulation coincided with large transfers dominating exchange outflows on September 30, when moves of at least 1 million $XRP made up 60.8% of Binance outflows and 48.7% of Coinbase outflows. Whether the latest outflow trend represents a continuation of that dynamic or a separate rotation remains to be seen.
