🚨 Arbitrum’s Stablecoin Push Just Got a Major Test: USDG Is Live

Arbitrum now has Paxos-issued USDG on-chain—and the DAO is being asked to back it with 100 million ARB.

LIVE / CONFIRMED: On October 6, Arbitrum announced that USDG launched on Arbitrum One through Paxos’ Global Dollar Network. Fluid, Morpho, GMX, Maple, Uniswap, and Kraken are among the first integrations.

So what actually changed?

USDG gives Arbitrum users another dollar stablecoin for trading, lending, payments, and liquidity. Arbitrum also joined Paxos’ Global Dollar Network, alongside partners including Kraken, Mastercard, OKX, and Robinhood.

But here’s the important part: the 100M ARB incentive proposal is separate from the launch. It is PROPOSED, not approved, and still needs ArbitrumDAO approval.

There’s one detail worth watching: adoption. USDG being live does not guarantee liquidity, users, or sustained DeFi activity.

That doesn’t mean Arbitrum has won the stablecoin race. It means the network has a regulated-dollar partner and a major governance decision ahead.
