It also targets capital needs across AI, energy, robotics and defense.

The Orca Loopscale merger brings together two established Scvolana protocols with complementary products. Orca has processed more than $550 billion in trading volume since launching in 2021. Loopscale reports over $150 million in deposits and more than $2 billion in facilitated loans.

Formation will use Orca for trading and liquidity while adding Loopscale credit and investment vaults. The company says this structure can help issuers move assets from creation into financing and distribution. Both protocols will continue supporting the ORCA and xORCA token network.

The Orca Loopscale merger also builds on Orca’s growing focus on tokenized finance. In August, Orca joined Shinhan Asset Management and others in a tokenized Korean won bond fund project. Formation is already working with Figure, Superstate, R3, Securitize and Shinhan Asset Management.

Formation Targets AI Energy Robotics and Tokenized Asset Growth

Formation plans to expand beyond crypto-native trading into financing for capital-heavy industries. The Orca Loopscale merger gives the company trading, credit and vault tools within one operating structure. Management argues smaller deals often face high legal, underwriting and distribution costs in traditional markets.

Over the next 12 months, Formation plans new tools for issuers and additional capital-allocation strategies. It also wants a pathway into regulated U.S. capital markets as its product range develops. Apollo estimates AI infrastructure alone may require nearly $3 trillion through 2028.

The Orca Loopscale merger leaves financial terms undisclosed. Luke Truitt will serve as CEO, Mary Gooneratne as chief operating officer and Christopher Montagano as strategy and legal chief.
