Oil prices fell in a volatile session, while London copper edged higher after a strike at a Chilean mine deepened supply concerns. Spot gold also declined as the U.S. dollar strengthened.

According to Sina Finance, Brent crude settled slightly lower near $100 a barrel, while WTI fell 1.3% to around $88 a barrel. The article said attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz increased, even as oil shipments from the Middle East remained resilient.

London Metal Exchange copper rose 0.4% to $14,475.50 a ton. According to Sina Finance, two unions at Antofagasta Plc's Centinela copper mine began striking on Wednesday and said the strike would start affecting copper output in about two weeks.

Spot gold fell 1.3% to $4,108.97 an ounce at 4:41 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time, while spot silver dropped 2.6% to $59.7605 an ounce.
