Europol said future quantum computers could crack private keys protecting cryptocurrency wallets, while Bitcoin’s blockchain itself is not the weak point. According to BeInCrypto, the EU police agency said no cryptographic fix exists for Bitcoin wallets whose public keys are already visible, and owners must move those funds before an attack arrives.

Glassnode put exposed Bitcoin at 6.04 million BTC in May, or 30.2% of all coins issued, including reused addresses and exchange wallets.
