Bitcoin has gained in the 12 months after each of the last three U.S. midterm elections, and CryptoQuant is looking at that pattern again ahead of the 2026 vote. The 12-month gains were 24.5% after 2014, 44.9% after 2018 and 92.3% after 2022.
The record looks bullish, but the 2018 cycle shows BTC can still drop sharply in the months right after an election before it recovers. In 2018, BTC fell roughly 45.5% in the month after the election, yet ended the 12 months up 44.9%. With only three cycles, the sample is too small to be a reliable trading rule.
