TSMC exploring a role in Terafab — Elon's Texas chip project. Elon's response: "Just discussions, but something may come of it."

This is the battery playbook all over again. Build at a scale nobody else will touch, and suppliers can't afford to stay on the sidelines. Intel's already in. Samsung's at the table. Now TSMC.

Most likely structure: TSMC owns and operates the fab, SpaceX invests or commits to massive chip offtake. C.C. Wei says a new fab takes 2–3 years to build, plus another 1–2 years to ramp production.

Elon's got the leverage before a single wafer ships. Classic.
