The man who filed the SEC case against Ripple just got a new federal job, and $XRP did not react at all.

Decrypt reports that President Trump picked Jay Clayton, now Director of National Intelligence, to lead a new group coordinating federal AI policy. As SEC chair, Clayton started several crypto lawsuits, including the one against Ripple.

My take: this is a headline about AI, not about crypto rules. Clayton's new role is not a market regulator's role, so I see no direct path from this news to XRP. The name is what gets attention.

The market seems to agree. XRP is at 1.50, up 0.4% in 24 hours, close to BTC's +0.36%. Volume is about 62.9M USDT, only 0.26x its 7-day average, so trading is running at about a quarter of normal. Nobody is rushing to buy or sell on this.

On the week, XRP is down 2.0% and sits 3.9% under its 7-day high of 1.562. The low is 1.446.

What I am watching: a move outside 1.446 to 1.562 with volume back near its average. Until then, this story is noise for traders.
