Security sources say the Transportation Ministry and Mossad were supposed to flag suspicious names. The ministry won’t say if it looked; Shin Bet says foreign airlines aren’t its job.
A 2023 law created a unit inside the Tax Authority for exactly this, with lists meant for Mossad, Shin Bet and police.
The State Comptroller had already called for one aviation-security body. It never happened.
Netanyahu is already meeting the passenger who broke into the cockpit.
The office meant to read the list still hasn’t answered.
