Let's talk about luck real quick.

I think I'm pretty lucky. But here's the thing — you can actually make your own luck.

There are basically 4 types:

1. Pure random luck. You did nothing. Just right place, right time. This is the only one you can't control.

2. Luck from motion. You're out there doing stuff — investing, trading, building, meeting people. Most of it goes nowhere, but you're expanding your surface area. More shots on goal = more chances something good happens.

3. Luck from awareness. The opportunity is sitting there for everyone to see. But you're one of the few who actually sees it. This comes from years of pattern recognition. Happens all the time in investing — the info is public, but you're trained to spot what matters. The luck isn't finding it, it's recognizing it.

4. Luck unique to you. You built relationships, skills, a reputation. You became the type of person lucky things happen to. Think of someone like threadguy — he positioned himself so opportunities find him.

So you can engineer 3 out of 4. Only the first one is pure chance.

There's an old saying: luck is the residue of hard work. Lucky people just expose themselves to more situations. They take more swings.

Doesn't guarantee success — most people still won't make it. But you definitely improve the odds.
