Gold closed at $4,156.10 (-0.60%) and silver at $60.29 (-1.72%), giving back ground during the New York session.

Cooler PCE data cut October hike odds from about 71% to 37%, but long-term yields rose anyway: the 10Y near 5.30% and the 30Y around 5.65%. Oil and Hormuz risks are keeping inflation concerns in play.

For Thursday, I’m watching the edges of the range: gold $4,136–$4,210 | silver $60.00–$61.18.

Friday’s 8:30 ET NFP is the next test for rate expectations. Softer jobs could support metals; a firm report may keep yields in control. Cash is a position into the release. NFA.
