A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv turned into a nightmare at thousands of feet in the air.
Captain Smit Machchhar was reportedly stabbed by his co-pilot during the flight.
The aircraft then went into a rapid descent — dropping around 14,300 feet in just 37 seconds, according to flight-tracking data.
Then came an extraordinary response.
Passengers and crew rushed toward the cockpit and helped restrain the attacker. Other pilots on board stepped in, and the aircraft was diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, where it landed safely. All passengers were accounted for.
