ACI Worldwide integrates XRP as an optional settlement rail: what you need to know

ACI Worldwide, which processes ~9% of global SWIFT traffic, representing approximately $155 trillion annually, has integrated XRP as a settlement option into its ACI Connetic platform, as part of SWIFT’s multi-ledger initiative.

In practice, Connetic automatically selects the best payment rail (SWIFT FIN, gpi, DLT, bank transfers, etc.) based on rules defined by each bank. XRP is now among the available rails.

What this means:

A real infrastructure development: banks using ACI technically have access to XRP through Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity.

What this does NOT mean:

There is no system-wide shift: the use of XRP remains optional and depends on each bank. Nothing indicates that XRP has become a “preferred” rail, and there is no confirmation that the SWIFT ledger itself is built on the XRP Ledger.

For institutional players, the key is to track the actual mechanisms of adoption rather than media hype.
