84% of Bitcoin Addresses Are in Profit. Where Is the Pain?
Bitcoin's onchain data tells a surprisingly different story.
As of September 22, 2026, approximately 84.11% of Bitcoin addresses were in profit, according to the CoinGlass chart.
$BTC was trading around $86,604 at the recorded timestamp.
That leaves roughly 16% of addresses underwater.
But here's the interesting part:
If Bitcoin holders are still largely profitable, where has the pain in crypto actually been?
Look further out on the risk curve:
🟡 Altcoins
🟡 Memecoins
🟡 Leverage
Bitcoin can remain relatively resilient while higher-risk segments of the crypto market experience much deeper drawdowns.
Maybe the real story of this cycle isn't that crypto investors lost money, but where they lost it. 👀
