New analysis shows European drivers are paying 30 euros more each time they fill up with diesel, making Europe the hardest-hit major economy in the world. According to Sina Finance, global diesel prices have hit a record high amid disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and supply interruptions at Russian refineries.

The European non-governmental organization Transport & Environment, using European Commission data, found that diesel spending for drivers this year is up 40% from the start of the year, and filling a 50-liter tank now costs about 30 euros more. It said Europe’s extra diesel cost has reached 203 million euros a day since the conflict began, excluding fuel tax cuts.
