U.S. auto safety regulators ended their investigation into backup camera failures in 129,092 Honda Ridgeline pickup trucks on Tuesday without taking further action. According to Sina Finance, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened the review in 2024 and upgraded it to an engineering analysis in February 2025 after reports of wiring harness failures in vehicles that had already received the original recall repair in 2022.

NHTSA said it closed the engineering analysis after testing and inspection results did not support concerns that repaired wiring harnesses would fail. The agency said most of the reports it received involved other types of backup camera or wiring harness failures that could not be linked to the durability issue under review.
