A flaw in Bitcoin Lightning's Eclair software could allow malicious peers to drain a node's local channel balance through excessive closing fees. According to NS3.AI, ACINQ released Eclair 0.14.3 on Sept. 14 to patch three peer-triggered vulnerabilities involving channel closures, splicing, and on-the-fly funding.

The update came as BTCPay Server reported bots probing exposed LND infrastructure for a wallet takeover path. The report highlights continued security risks for Lightning Network operators and related payment infrastructure.
