According to CNBC, MS NOW, CNN and Politico are set to sue President Donald Trump on Monday morning and ask a federal judge to reverse his ban on the three outlets from the White House. The journalists were blocked from entering the White House on Saturday, a day after Trump said he would bar them from working there. The lawsuit says the ban is a direct assault on the First Amendment and seeks a temporary restraining order to stop further enforcement and restore hard pass press credentials. Trump accused the outlets of writing fiction and lies about him in a Truth Social post and warned that other media outlets could follow. The defendants also include White House communications aide Steven Cheung, White House Chief of Staff Susan Wiles and Sean Curran, director of the U.S. Secret Service. On Sunday night, the White House removed CNN from its scheduled rotation as the pool network for the White House travel pool, which is set to travel Monday with Trump to New York for the United Nations General Assembly.
