These are actual images from the surface of Mars

NASA just released a new “postcard” from Curiosity after the rover crossed 5,000 Martian days on the planet

The main image combines views Curiosity captured from the same location in the morning and afternoon, with blue and yellow added to represent the different lighting

And the other images are raw views captured around Curiosity’s 5,000th sol

A nuclear-powered robot landed on another planet in 2012, has spent more than 14 YEARS exploring Mars, climbed over 1 km in elevation...

and is still sending images like these back to Earth
