Bitcoin Spot ETFs Add $159.5M as Inflows Return
Thursday brought a positive ETF session after two days of withdrawals.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $159.5 million in net inflows on September 17, 2026, according to Farside Investors. BlackRock’s IBIT attracted $183.7 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC saw $16.6 million leave and VanEck’s HODL recorded $7.6 million in outflows. The remaining tracked funds reported zero net flows.
The broader picture still needs attention. Adding Farside’s daily totals for September 14–17 gives approximately $426.9 million in net outflows across those four sessions. Thursday’s improvement recovered only part of the earlier withdrawals.
My take: the concentration matters. IBIT’s inflow exceeded the entire group’s net gain, meaning demand was uneven across funds. That makes participation across more issuers a useful next signal to watch.
Several consecutive positive sessions, accompanied by fewer redemptions elsewhere, would strengthen the case for recovering ETF demand. I would also compare those flows with Bitcoin’s price response: sustained buying alongside stable prices could suggest that available supply is being absorbed.
For now, this is an encouraging daily reading, with the week’s cumulative balance still below zero.
Will inflows spread beyond IBIT in the next few sessions?
