A viral Binance Square post is getting major attention after showing a 3x ZECUSDT long with more than $1 million in unrealized PnL.
According to the screenshot shared by the trader:
• Entry Price: $1,025.09
• Latest Price: $1,359.19
• Unrealized PnL: +$1,002,451.90
• Leverage: 3x Long
But for beginners, the most important part isn't the $1M number.
It's understanding what “unrealized PnL” means.
The position shown in the screenshot was still open, so the displayed profit could change as $ZEC price moves. It should not be treated as money already withdrawn or guaranteed profit.
The trader also said this position had cost around $1.8K in funding fees so far, compared with around $20K on a previous position.
Funding rates can change over time. Binance ZECUSDT data shows that recent funding rates have moved between positive and negative readings.

And $ZEC has been extremely volatile recently. Binance historical data shows ZEC/USD gained about 20.46% on September 16, with the price continuing to trade around the $1.3K+ area on September 17.

It's this:
Futures trading involves leverage, funding costs, volatility and significant risk.
For someone learning crypto, understanding these basics is more important than simply looking at a huge PnL screenshot.
