Look, Congress is actually moving this one forward.
A US House committee has voted to advance new crypto tax legislation, and now it heads toward a full House vote.
Here’s the thing: if this eventually becomes law, crypto transactions with fees of $10 or less could be exempt from capital gains taxes.
Sounds small. Maybe. But for people making frequent small crypto transactions, that could remove a pretty annoying layer of tax paperwork, especially when you’re dealing with tiny gains and fees that somehow require more accounting than the trade itself.
Still, don’t celebrate yet.
Committee approval isn’t the finish line. The bill still has to go through the full House process and whatever comes next before anything actually changes.
