According to CNBC, American Airlines CEO Robert Isom said Wednesday that 30% of the carrier's seats generate half of its revenue, and the company is adding more first-class and other higher-yield seats as it reconfigures aircraft and takes new deliveries. American earlier this month unveiled a 70-suite business class cabin on its Boeing 777-300ER, and more planes are still awaiting remodeling. Isom said at a Morgan Stanley industry conference that the premium-seat share will grow as reconfigurations and new aircraft deliveries come on board. He also said in June that American plans to revamp its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, add new interiors to its 777-200s, and order new wide-body aircraft this year.
