According to Wallstreetcn, FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford told the House Appropriations Committee that U.S. President Donald Trump's air traffic control modernization plan will be difficult to sustain unless Congress provides more funding. Bedford said the investment would otherwise lead to more flight delays, more cancellations, and more inconvenience for citizens traveling by air. The FAA has deployed 11,000 certified professional controllers and has another 4,000 in training, while a subcommittee member said those targets do not account for challenges to the current controller workforce from academy graduation rates, burnout, and early retirement.
