Liquid Network said its emergency Elements v23.3.4 update is now live, and Functionary nodes have begun upgrading immediately. It recommended that all Liquid node operators update at the same time. According to Odaily, the release fixes a previously identified Proof verification cache vulnerability and strengthens the cache key used for Range Proofs.

Blockstream said it is still developing a recovery plan for the network, with three stages expected: resuming block production while keeping Peg operations paused, replaying verified valid transactions, and restoring Peg operations after the network state fully recovers and fund returns are confirmed. The first two stages are being tested in parallel, and each stage will proceed only after safety is confirmed.

Liquid Network said Elements v23.3.4 has completed multiple rounds of internal and external review, with participation from Bitcoin Red Team, Alpen Labs, and other teams. It also warned users to watch for fake upgrade websites used in scams related to the incident and said information should only be obtained through official Liquid Network and Blockstream channels. It added that users should not send funds to strangers or disclose private keys or seed phrases.
