Douyin is testing an AI Workshop for ordinary creators and developers, linking AI app building, debugging, deployment, and distribution within its platform traffic system. According to ChainCatcher, the creator backend includes built-in AI development frameworks, interface capabilities, and cloud storage services.

Douyin has also added an Interest Card format to its recommendation page to display AI apps created in the workshop. Users can interact with these cards directly in the feed without opening a mini program or leaving the main app, enabling Q&A, interactive features, and lightweight tool experiences.

The product lets non-coders build apps by describing ideas in natural language, while technical developers can modify underlying files for deeper customization. Debugging, device preview, and publishing are completed in the same environment, and finished works can be converted into Interest Cards for recommendation feed distribution. The product is currently in an invite-only beta test.
