There’s something about PENDLE that interests me more than its $2 price.
It’s the gap between the economic scale behind the token and the market value assigned to it.
The token has a market cap of roughly $349 million, while the protocol’s TVL is above $1.2 billion.
That doesn’t automatically tell me it’s cheap.
It tells me something more interesting.
Sometimes the market doesn’t value the growth of a protocol at the same speed that the protocol itself grows.
That delay is what I’m watching here.
Because this isn’t simply a DeFi product getting bigger. The economic structure is also becoming more connected to the token, with protocol revenue being used for token buybacks and the sPENDLE mechanism linking that value back to holders.
So my positive view here isn’t based on the simple idea that “DeFi will become popular again.”
I’m looking at something more specific.
If the protocol keeps growing, how much of that growth will eventually leave an economic footprint on the token?
That connection doesn’t have to happen immediately.
But if it becomes stronger over time, the way we value this asset today may start to look incomplete.
For me, that’s the most interesting part.
Not where the price is around $2.
But how much of the economic structure being built behind it the market still hasn’t fully priced in.$PENDLE
