According to CNBC, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has agreed to a four-year contract extension that runs through the 2030 league season and ends on March 31, 2031. The NFL's Compensation Committee notified full ownership of the deal on Sunday, and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said the agreement is heavily performance-based, with more than 95% of total compensation tied to Goodell's and the league's performance against various metrics. Financial terms were not immediately known. Kraft, who chairs the compensation committee, said the committee worked with an independent third-party compensation consultant and outside counsel to structure the contract around the NFL's long-term interests and success. Goodell's extension is his fifth since becoming commissioner in 2006.
