Solomon could have asked for status, wealth, or victory, but in 1 Kings 3:9 he asked for an understanding mind. What looks impressive is not always what serves people well.

God, free leaders and builders from choosing appearance over faithful care. Give us humility to ask who carries the downside of each decision, and courage to change course when the burden falls unfairly. Amen.

Before approving the next proposal, name who bears the risk if it fails.
