NEW: 🇻🇳 Vietnam’s new crypto market rules take effect September 1.
But Vietnam has not licensed a single crypto exchange yet.
Five companies have passed the first assessment to operate exchanges.
They must now meet Level 4 cybersecurity requirements and have at least VND 10 trillion ($383M) in capital.
Once the first exchange receives a license, domestic investors will have 6 months to transition to licensed platforms.
Trading through unlicensed platforms may result in fines of VND 30–50 million ($1,140–$1,900).
