Honestly, I was heading home today and kept thinking about Dusk.
The more I look at how crypto regulation is moving in Europe, the more I feel like people are looking at privacy the wrong way.
Total anonymity was never going to be an easy sell to regulators. If nobody can verify anything and nobody is accountable, sooner or later that model was going to hit a wall.
But that doesn’t mean privacy itself is going away.
It just means privacy has to work differently.
That’s what I find interesting about Dusk.
The goal isn’t to make businesses invisible to regulators. It’s more about giving authorized parties access to what they actually need to verify, while keeping sensitive financial information away from competitors, random observers, and potential attackers.
And honestly, that makes a lot more sense for real businesses.
But there’s still one thing I keep wondering about.
Will the people who came to crypto for freedom actually be okay with this kind of privacy?
Or does privacy still count if there’s a compliance layer sitting behind it?
Maybe this is exactly what institutional adoption needs.
Or maybe crypto eventually ends up losing part of what made it special in the first place.
Curious how you see it.
