Yesterday I saw the DUSK burn being treated almost like a simple proof of deflation. I paused there because the number alone felt incomplete.
A burn tells us that some DUSK was removed. It does not tell us why it happened, where it came from, or whether the activity represents broad ecosystem demand.
If most of the burn comes from one wallet, application, epoch, or a small group of blocks, the story changes. It could be real usage, but it could also be concentrated activity that doesn’t say much about the wider network.
That made me think the more useful Dusk dashboard would show burns beside emissions, staking rewards, active wallets, applications, and transaction activity.
I’m not questioning the burn itself. I’m questioning what we assume from it.
Was the burn driven by many independent users, or a few large sources?
Is it becoming a repeated economic pattern, or just a short-term spike?
For me, that distinction matters more than the headline number. The interesting story starts after the burn.
