CrossCountry has cancelled services across almost all its UK routes after a power cut hit its control centre in Birmingham on Saturday, leaving key railway management systems unavailable, according to BBC reported. The operator said the disruption was significant and unforeseen, with major cancellations affecting routes including Manchester to Birmingham, Leeds to York, Cheltenham to Cardiff and Glasgow to Edinburgh. CrossCountry said the only route expecting near-normal service was Peterborough to Cambridge and Stansted Airport. Tickets are being accepted by other operators, and passengers may claim Delay Repay compensation for delays of 30 minutes or more or a refund if they choose not to travel.
