Guys, what a difference a few days can make in crypto.

Not long ago, Bitcoin had fallen almost 54% from its 2025 all-time high near $126K, with the broader decline eventually taking BTC into the high-$50K region. Fear dominated the conversation, and every bounce seemed to come with another warning that the worst might not be over.

Now look at the market.

Bitcoin has ripped back toward $80,000, reaching roughly $79,500 during Friday’s rally. BTC gained more than 20% in just five days, turning one of the market’s most bearish periods into a powerful recovery almost overnight.

So what changed?

One major catalyst came from the macro side. The U.S. Treasury’s move to expand long-term bond buybacks helped push Treasury yields and the dollar lower, creating a more supportive environment for Bitcoin and other risk assets.

Then came the short squeeze.

So many traders had positioned for further downside that when BTC started breaking resistance, bearish positions were forced out rapidly. More than $4.3 billion in crypto shorts have reportedly been liquidated during the broader rally, adding another wave of buying pressure.

But this wasn’t only traders getting squeezed.

Fresh institutional demand showed up too. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded around $606 million in net inflows on Aug. 20, their strongest daily inflow since May 1. Weekly BTC ETF inflows reached roughly $1.61 billion, the strongest week since October 2025.

And once Bitcoin reclaimed major technical levels, the psychology changed incredibly fast.

The same traders who were afraid to touch BTC near the lows suddenly started watching $70K, then $75K, then $80K. Fear turned into confidence, confidence turned into momentum, and momentum started creating FOMO.

That’s the crazy part about crypto.

The fundamentals didn’t magically transform overnight. Instead, several catalysts arrived together improving liquidity conditions, ETF demand, short liquidations, regulatory optimism and major technical breakouts.

Suddenly, sellers were chasing exits while buyers were chasing Bitcoin.

But after such a violent move, bulls still have something to prove. Getting close to $80K is impressive; holding the recovery after the excitement cools down matters much more.

Still, the transformation has been incredible.

From fear near $58K to bulls attacking $80K Bitcoin didn’t just recover. It flipped the entire mood of the market.

And now everyone is asking the question that seemed almost impossible just days ago:

If $80K falls, where does Bitcoin go next?
