🇮🇷 Iran says it’s about to start building a massive 5,000-MW solar plant in Isfahan.
The project would cover roughly 6,000 hectares, cost around $2.8 billion in private investment and sit in a region that gets up to 300 sunny days a year.
Officials are already calling it the future “world’s largest solar power plant.”
That title is debatable, with China already operating projects in the same league.
Still, Tehran says this one could eventually cover around 10% of Iran’s monthly electricity demand and cut summer blackouts roughly in half.
Big ambitions under heavy sanctions, now they just have to build it.
