With Dusk was seeing how quiet the native L1 actually looks in practice. I checked the live chain and the latest blocks were still being produced almost continuously but a lot of those blocks carried transactions. that changes how I think about Layer-1 here.
At block #4,178,605, the explorer showed 0 transactions, while the chain was still producing blocks roughly every minute.
The interesting part is that the network itself is active but application level activity is much thinner than the infrastructure suggests. the L1 is clearly functioning but usage is not automatically following just because the base layer is there.
I initially expected the regulated finance angle to show up as obvious transaction activity.
Instead, what stood out was the gap between a live settlement layer and actual on chain workload. I grabbed a snack, came back, checked a few more blocks… same basic pattern.
That made me pull back from thinking about Dusk mainly as an asset-tokenization story.
The question I’m left with is whether this quiet base layer activity is simply early stage infrastructure, or whether real financial workflows will eventually make the chain look very different…
