Something about DUSK caught my attention today.
I was looking at how DUSK decides who takes part in checking new blocks.
What I found interesting is that it doesn’t simply rely on the same people checking every block.
DUSK can choose different participants for different rounds.
One can be chosen to put forward a block, while others help check and approve it.
The part I like here is that this selection isn’t just based on someone saying, “you do it this time.”
There is a system behind it that chooses the participants.
Why does that matter?
Because a blockchain needs more than just people who can create blocks.
It also needs a fair and reliable way to decide who checks them.
For DUSK, this becomes even more interesting because the network is being built with financial use cases in mind.
So when I look at DUSK, I’m starting to pay attention to the small parts of the network too.
Privacy gets most of the attention.
But the way the network decides who checks and confirms blocks is also worth understanding.
