A lot of blockchain projects are introduced with big promises, but I think the more meaningful way to judge a project is to understand what it is trying to make possible in practice.
Dusk Network caught my attention because its focus is not simply on building another Layer-1. It is designed around privacy for financial applications, with confidential smart contracts and the Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard at the center of its approach.
What I find interesting is the idea of making confidentiality part of the underlying infrastructure rather than treating it as something added later. Financial applications can require programmable logic while also needing information to remain private, and that creates a very different design challenge from simply moving transactions onto a blockchain.
Dusk Network is essentially exploring that space: how a Layer-1 can support financial applications where smart contracts can operate with confidentiality built into the model. Whether that vision reaches its full potential depends on real adoption and execution, but the problem it is addressing is clear and relevant.
