One thing I find interesting about Dusk is that privacy isn’t really the whole story.
The bigger question is: how private does financial activity actually need to be?
Think about traditional markets. Not every trade, balance, or business detail is visible to everyone. Some information is public, while other information is only available to the people who actually need it.
Dusk is trying to bring that kind of thinking on-chain.
It’s a Layer-1 designed around financial applications, with confidential smart contracts and its Confidential Security Contract (XSC) standard. The interesting part, in my view, is the attempt to combine privacy with the kind of transparency and verification that financial systems still need.
Because making everything public isn’t always practical.
And making everything private isn’t practical either.
The difficult part is finding the middle ground.
That’s why I’m watching Dusk less as “another privacy blockchain” and more as an experiment in how financial markets could use blockchain without putting every piece of sensitive information in the open.
If blockchain is going to handle serious financial activity, shouldn’t privacy and transparency work together rather than compete?
