Most people think AI is replacing programmers by writing code. I think the bigger shift is happening somewhere else: AI is replacing repetitive decision-making. Agents can now test thousands of permission checks, review huge codebases, and catch patterns that humans simply don’t have the patience to verify. The future belongs to engineers who know how to orchestrate AI, not just prompt it.
