Michael Saylor isn't blinking. As Bitcoin hovers below the $67,000 mark and broader institutional sentiment cools, the Strategy chairman is preparing to execute what would be the company's 100th Bitcoin purchase a milestone that underscores just how committed the firm remains to its unconventional treasury playbook.

Saylor dropped the hint on social over the weekend, sharing a "StrategyTracker" chart with the cryptic caption "The Orange Century." For followers of his Bitcoin journey, the message was clear: a 100th acquisition announcement via SEC Form 8-K filing is imminent.

Since first converting its treasury reserves to Bitcoin back in August 2020, Strategy has accumulated 717,131 BTC across 99 separate transactions. At an average purchase price of $76,027 per coin, the firm's total investment now exceeds $54 billion a figure that currently sits roughly $12.4 billion in unrealized losses given today's trading prices near $64,700.

That's a painful paper loss by any measure. Yet Saylor shows no signs of retreat. The company has logged a Bitcoin purchase every single month since November 2024, a consistency that stands in sharp contrast to five consecutive weeks of outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs, suggesting many institutional players are stepping back rather than doubling down.

To keep the buying engine running, Strategy has leaned heavily on capital markets most recently pivoting toward preferred stock issuance to raise fresh funds. The firm deployed $7 billion through this vehicle in 2025 alone. Critics have flagged the approach as potentially dilutive, warning that dividend obligations tied to preferred shares could gradually erode Bitcoin-per-share value for common stockholders.

Still, Strategy's footprint in the Bitcoin ecosystem remains unmatched. The company now controls approximately 3.4% of Bitcoin's 21 million total supply a concentration no other publicly traded firm comes close to matching, even as smaller companies like Consensys and SharpLink experiment with crypto treasury strategies of their own.

The 100th purchase won't change Bitcoin's price or the firm's average cost basis. But symbolically, it marks nearly six years of conviction during bull runs, corrections, and everything in between.
