According to PANews, Thai authorities announced last Friday that they have decided to block unauthorized cryptocurrency platforms to enhance the efficiency of law enforcement agencies in dealing with cybercrime. Following the conclusion of the Technical Crime Prevention and Suppression Committee meeting, the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand was instructed to submit information about unauthorized digital asset service providers to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society for the purpose of blocking these platforms.
The announcement stated that the Thai SEC has taken into consideration the impact of this action on users. Therefore, before the services become inaccessible, users will be given time to manage their accounts. Consequently, the SEC has urged users of the related platforms to withdraw their assets from the platforms as soon as possible.
