Snapchat's new AI chatbot "My AI" has been warned by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for potentially failing to "properly assess the privacy risks." The preliminary notice was issued to Snap Inc. and Snap Group, Snapchat's parent companies, after a provisional investigation. The ICO claims that the risks to millions of users, including children aged 13-17, were not adequately identified before the chatbot's launch. If a final enforcement notice is issued, Snap may have to stop data processing related to My AI, preventing its use in the UK without an "adequate" risk assessment.
