🌍 EU Unveils New Arctic Security Strategy Amid Rising Geopolitical Tensions

The European Union has introduced an updated Arctic strategy focused on strengthening regional security as competition over the Arctic intensifies. The plan includes improving satellite surveillance, monitoring undersea cables and pipelines, and helping member states expand their icebreaker capabilities. As melting ice opens new shipping routes, the region is becoming increasingly important for military positioning, trade, and energy security. The strategy’s impact will depend on funding, coordination among European countries, and how Russia responds.
