It is well; said the first lady who stepped out of the trotro muttered as the mate returned her money. A plantain seller who cooks plantain over fire cries out in a loud voice, prompting everyone around to panic in fear because heavy rain meant floodings. This mate was not born to provoke me. Abena said to herself as she stepped out of the trotro to a new problem to worry about. Althought, she was equally disappointed like everyone else because the mate had practically cancelled the supposed gist (experiences) and ruined the mood for everyone. No one showed it.
By the time Abena was home, it was already pouring down heavily, such that the taxi had to drop her right in front of Valerie's shop around 11am. There were huge lines (queues) in town today. I think I got lucky; to be able to secure this amount of ice. My brother gave me a lot of money today so the moment I saw the lines in town just for ice, I knew I had to return with a whole ice chest and in this way, we can sell some for a little profit.
Valerie takes some of the ice back to her aunt (Abena 's mum) while Abena gently collapses to the cooled floor in Valerie's shop exhausted. Valerie returns 29 minutes later with some delicious hot koko with specially toasted wheat bread and milk on a tray. Abena wake up and start! Any worthy gist after everything you've been through today?
